Our company

This is us

The owner-managed family business Norddeutsche Kistenfabrik K. Pannecke GmbH is a certified independent regional supplier of transport packaging made of wood and wood-based materials. The company also provides packaging and all other necessary services.

We produce flexible and reliable export crates, returnable and exhibition crates, transport crates and transport sledges professionally in accordance with the guidelines of the Holzpackmittel Verband or according to customer specifications. This is based on relevant packaging regulations such as HPE packaging guidelines, CTU packaging guidelines, Bundeswehr packaging regulations, technical delivery conditions and, of course, many years of packaging experience and the regular exchange of experience within associations and organisations such as HPE, BfSV and others.

With computer-controlled design and computer-controlled machine production on our CNC nesting and formatting systems, crates, pallets and other items are then assembled by our skilled employees. The HKW joinery is part of our group of companies. This is where high-quality reusable and exhibition goods transport crates are manufactured with fittings, elaborate hardware technology and coloured surface treatment.

A network within the HPE (Holzpackmittel-Paletten-Exportverpackung) association and close co-operation with partners from wood processing companies guarantee a high level of performance.

We are authorised by the German Federal Aviation Authority as a regulated agent, registered and approved by the Plant Protection Office (in accordance with the IPPC standard / ISPM 15) and certified as a specialist packaging company by HPE under membership number 59 and are constantly monitored by the authorities and the association.

The 10,000 square metre company site has four halls, each of which is heated with crane systems of 50 tonnes and with heat from the combined heat and power plant. We produce our electricity using our own photovoltaic systems on the roofs. We produce up to 250 kWp on 1,200 metres of photovoltaic systems.

Sustainability

As a company, we attach great importance to sustainability in the production of wooden crates and means of transport. By utilising our wood waste in our own combined heat and power plant, we make full use of the renewable raw material wood in a responsible manner. Our internal processes are energy-saving The photovoltaic systems on the roofs of our production halls support an even better energy balance for our company.

Compared to other packaging materials, wooden crates and wooden pallets are environmentally friendly transport packaging with a small ecological footprint. As a renewable raw material, wood is biodegradable and the products we create can be easily recycled or, even better, reused several times.

We are aware of our responsibility for the future. Our company from Wentorf, near Hamburg, therefore relies on environmentally friendly electricity. By regularly reviewing our operations, we have been able to achieve a significant reduction in energy consumption in recent years.

Our network partners

We utilise efficient partnerships and are involved in a wide range of associations. Our involvement in the Beratungsstelle für seäßige Verpackung (BFSV) and the Berufsgenossenschaft Holz und Metall (BGHM) ensures that we are actively involved in current events relating to wooden packaging, logistics and transport. Our employees are therefore well informed and can react quickly to current changes in the market for the benefit of our customers.

The packaging guidelines of the Bundesverband Holzpackmittel, Paletten, Exportverpackung e. V. (HPE) set minimum standards for high-quality, market-orientated packaging and are regularly reviewed. The association’s pallet guidelines define the essential criteria for the manufacture and use of wooden pallets. By certifying the respective requirements in accordance with the HPE guidelines, companies can rely on Norddeutsche Kistenfabrik K. Pannecke to precisely fulfil the logistical specifications.

Norddeutsche Kistenfabrik is authorised by the German Federal Aviation Authority as a regulated agent under the LBA RegB air freight security programme and has the necessary certification (LBA RegB) for air freight packaging and secured areas and halls on the company premises. The Air Cargo Security Programme (LFSP) offers logistics companies a completely secure supply chain and compliance with legal security requirements.
